If you have an interest in history and arts, you will enjoy our walking tour of Birgu and Cospicua.
As well known, Birgu is the oldest of the Three Cities, as it existed since the Middle Ages. Its tourist attractions include St. Lawrence Church, which was the Conventual Church of the Order of St. John, the former Palace of the General of the Galleys, the Order of St John’s treasury (now used as the Malta Maritime Museum), St. Dominic’s Church and the Freedom Monument.
Together with the tourist guide, you will walk through the narrow streets of the town, which are mainly closed to traffic.
After visiting Birgu, you will head to Cospicua, a double-fortified harbour city. Here you will hear more about the Immaculate Conception Church, the city walls and fortifications, the War Memorial, St. Helen’s Gate and so on…
